    Best Primer & Paint for Boating

    What's up guy's i just finished sanding down my 25ft center console down, Inside and out. Im ready to prime it, What's the best in the market for the price? something that's not to costly.

    first off are you spraying or rolling and tipping. i used pettit easypoxy and was very pleased with the outcome, i sprayed with a cheap sprayer from harbor freight. practiced on some plexiglass then had at it. not bad at all. do a search on the pettit web site. lots of important info there. take some piks and lets see...

    I would use awlgrip,if you are rolling and tipping use awl prep primer, then your color.If you are spraying use 545 white base primer then your color.If you decide to go this way I will be happy to provide you with tips and troubleshooting if you need it.

    I'm sorry guy's i forgot to add my father is a painter he painted a couple of boats for his friends but they supplied everything. he just sprayed it out. thats why we don't know whats best for primer or paint. some guy's go cheap and don't some people do care. That's why i wanted to get your opinion on it.

    I liked Imron marine paint, I used it and it came out great and seemed to be a good price !!

    We used 545 primer and then an Awlcraft color coat, then 2 coats of clear coat on top of that.

    The guy that shot the hull told me that he did a boat this way a few years ago and it looks like it was just painted.

    I'll let you know how my real life field test works out.
