Love the look of Carbon Fiber...I had CF accents on my GSX-R and they looked sharp against the gloss black!!! Thanks for sharing! The best of the best, Carbon Fiber Rod holders for my truck bed-p1050447.jpg

    update

here are the finished pics of the prototype that will be mounted in my truck.

These pictures are for the possibilty of mounting one to the bed without screws and using straps if somebody didn't want to screw into a $50,000 truck bed. Let me know what you think. Its penske board that drops into slots on top of bed to hold it in place then strapped down.

This is how I could build a one that would require No drilling of the metal on your $45,000. dollar big ass pick up truck. The piece not wrapped in carbon would be built into the previous part that is on my truck. It has a block that fits into the stake slots that most all PUs have. I would wrap the bottom in soft rubber like shower pan material. and 2 straps would pull it down so there is no movement. There would be 8- 2in tubes. Aprox. 10 in centers. I could also build 7 more staggered under the top group. If anyone has a better Idea let me know. What do you think Bo and jim . Dont try an all carbon fiber wrapped like I did. Way way too much work.

That is really forward thinking. Great Ideas you have. Just a question. How are the two straps working to eliminate movement and vibrations. Has it tested well. I would think it would be hard to eliminate all the movement with straps, just a thought. It is a really cool set up. Thanks for sharing

In the front it would be against the inside like on my carbon fiber one that I drilled and screwed to my old 97 diesel truck bed.{even tho I just sprayed the whole truck in black imron} Then on that unglassed piece, It would all be one piece with the rest and the blocks under neath would fit into the stake bed slot and stop all movement. everything underneath would be lined in a soft rubber membrane material. This was only an Idea because some guys with much more expensive and newer trucks were concerned about drilling and screwing to the new truck bed on a $45,000.00 truck. Just an Idea that I came up with.

Even the hatch was about a half pound. Most everything on that boat is cored and light. If john hadnt cut it up so bad with the fein multimaster It would have been even lighter. I did so much reglassing on that boat that is the only thing I added weight. penske foam cored transom.cored deck, cored floor weighs about 8oz. even the gun rack shelfs are coosa board. I probably had a couple thousand in labor in that last boat?$?$&#?
