    Bent anchor question

One of the flukes on my anchor is bent. If I torch it and bend back into place, will it be weakened forever? I will have to take it to somebody, my propane torch and baby vice was not cutting it

I did the same thing to mine last year after blackfishing one day and it was never the same.... always bent in the same spot with much less pressure.

Not that this is the correct answer.... only my take on it.

Take a look at your marina and see what they have laying around.... that's what I did and got a replacement for 1/4 of the cost of a new one. Pedersons has a whole wall in their shop with anchors on it..... pick one out and talk to Monty Hall ;-)

Funny - I bent mine too!

Just did the redneck straightener job in the parking lot (board and heavy suv). Bent it almost back into normal shape until... YEP, she bent again after one day out on the hook. Same spot.

I'm shopping for a new one.
