Bad Kitty at the Big Rock.

I built this boat for my self as a fishing boat, and to get my young kids out on the water. Also it makes my Operations Manager smile. Now that I've had cat I won't go back. We have topped 60 mph with 175 hp 4 strokes and are getting 3 1/2 to 3 mpg @ 35 to 40 mph, 0 to 30 mph in less than 3 seconds. I got accused of being a secret military boat being tested by Fountain until they saw the Suzuki's.

Too little time to use the boat for more than an hour at a time, so the plan is to go to the Big Rock Tounament, observe and photograph. If you see us and want a ride, flag us down (COMPMILLENNIA 6.7 on the stern quarter) or call the office for a cell number.

    Tight Lines.

Im not usually a cat guy but I have got to tell you ... that is one bad-ass rig!

I love the proportions. Nice sized pit and nice room in the bow.

I wasn't either, until I started fishing with the boat out of gear.

You know I was high speed trolling Mitches cat in 6-8' one day. That procat could take more than we could.

Truthfully I was never a cat guy either. I had built various custom catamarans and even production catamaran molds and tooling for other people, But really had little on the water experience with them, and the styling is an acquired taste.

The previous boat I had built for my self 10 years ago was a 29' center console with twin 225 Mercury Optimax's. I loved that boat, it was the only boat I ever had remorse selling. The tooling I made for it went to the guys that bought Egret and they build it as their 29.

Now that I have had cat it would be hard to go back. Simply stated I get the same high 50 mph performance, but with a 50% increase in fuel economy. With the fine entry angle and long waterline the ride is equal or better. Being shorter and lighter makes a world of difference towing. I still have the same Ford E-150 that I towed the 29 with. You knew you had something behind you towing a 6,000 lb 29 where you hardly feel the cat. Including the casting deck fwd the workable cockpit space is equal. What a great place to fly fish from. Maneuverability at speed or around the docks is terrific. I can walk it sideways just like my twin inboard. This is like getting religion all over again :-)

Below are a few construction photos, a couple pictures of my old CC, a shot of a friends cat with the same hull but powered with a single 250 Yamaha.

Jeepers, looking at my old center console pics it makes me feel like I traded in the "Old Girl" for a "Spinner".
