We use Alexseal. Great shine, durable, and repairable. We use to use Awlgrip but are happier with Alexseal.

I put a spray gun in my hand for the first time ever and used sterling on a 35'.
I brushed awlgrip once as well. Both looked great. I just painted my truck with cheap equipment paint from the auto store called ansol and its an acrylic enamal. Looks great, at least for now. I spoke to the sterling sales rep and he said its repairable, and you will get a better finish with a conventional gun. I think that it takes a experience to notice the difference from one paint to another, although some do hold up better.

Alexseal

I did not realize Jay was unhappy with his Alexseal. I am surprized about the gloss retention because we painted the Hooked Up right after the Bite Me that year and she is holding up as well as can be expected. The good news for Jay is an afternoon with a buffer and some polish the gloss will come right back. The alexseal is not as user friendly as the 2000 but it should hold up better. I am a big fan of the repairability of both. It has been a decade since I've used sterling. That experience was not a good one. However the paint companies do tweak their products over time. Back to the original question I would go with the Awlgrip over the Sterling if I couldn't get Alexseal.

My 2002 Grady White has an Awlgripped hull, it was done by the original owner and I am very happy with it. It looks great, still shines and is easy to clean and maintain. I have heard of other products that look dull and loose their good looks quickly, after 5 full seasons it looks brand new, I would recommend Awlgrip products. Like others have said, stick with what you know works unless you can justify going to something else that you clearly feel is better.
