    Love, Hate Relationship,

I have "re-built" 4 boat's in my life. I said I would never do it again, but who know's. It take's alot of work and the most expensive part's are hidden. You spend the most time on what may never see daylight again. But it sure is nice to know what's there when you get caught in one of those "light and variable" day's!!!! Frank

This was/ is a great thread, the same story told/ dynamics repeated on numerous different sites.
Fritz lovingly restored a family heirloom. Unfortunately his personality and elevated claims regarding this slightly Rybovich enhanced stock Chris Craft infuriated both the Rybovich and "Chrisovich" faithfull.
Not to worry, Fritz moves on. I'm sure you can find him peddling his undying love of Leprechaun on whatever site he next lands on.
    Rick.
PS Fritz irritates/ alienates friend and foe alike, zero (so far, but I remain hopefull!) opportunity for intelligent discourse.

    the leprechaun

Hey Ray - Welcome to the forum. Regarding your questions I'm no expert but here is my 2 cents worth:

As to the keel bolts - I'm sure that this was discussed with the builder, who probably addressed it before it was even brought up in the thread. I could be wrong, but I don't think that Fritz ever really said that they had checked the bolts and found them in acceptable & proper condition. That statement, made matter of factly, could probably have averted the whole mess...

As to the sheathing - Although the builder used the plywood for cosmetic reasons, it would have also provided, in combination with the glass & epoxy, more heft and strength to the hull even if it was thin. I think this step was smart money, and the hull looks extremely fair.

As to the spray rails - I agree with you in that I would have put them on prior to finishing. However, 'the proof is in the pudding' so to speak, and they can always be refitted after the fact if they are required. Any bets out there?

As to other threads - There are many good threads on this forum. Ray, you may want to get your gymn membership updated before you check it out, but, what do you know about World Cat Boats? enjoy...

    world cat lemon

mark what are u trying to do to me!!!! i went to that 'mountain' and...its too freeagin tall to craqwl!!!! im a slow reader so it would take me 6 months to climb it (lol)but if it was my money... i'd be squacking too.i'm sure the guy spent what 150 large for a new boat with twin diesels. it seems like some guys here don' like it but tough s##t it ain't their money. most of us would have given up but he hasn't you know what i say UNTIL HELL FREEZES OVER!!!!! this guy's like a wind or wave powered buoy he will forever let people know there is a danger out there. it's also good to see that the management here don't cut his brass off -good for them they are independant.

you said the leprechaun and his 'friends' was a 'shootout at jerrs corral'. the shootout at the OK Corral probably took what 45 seconds or something. THIS LOOKS LIKE THE 30 YEAR WAR!!!!! Do you remember that guy Kahn in the Star Trek movie? "...I will chase you thru eternity..."
BTW have u ever seen a guy make better use of smilies, or what????? while i was researching the 'world cat lemon' phrase some good cooking threads came up,let's get practical here... you are right when you sya that there are some very good threads here. Mark enjoy your sunday. ray

    the common thread

Thought you might get a kick out of that thread and its 'offspring'. Truth be told I like whisky better than 'whine' - well actually rum - but I'd be pissed off it it was my money too.

These threads, however different they may be, have a few things in common. I think the biggest one is that, given an opportunity, most of the 'major players' involved would have played things much differently than they actually did.
