Crab mustard is good
I think that's a system I looked at.
If it is, check out the cost.
It's pricey.

Flatdog,
My question would be only this; Why make a time proven simple system complicated? A shaft system installed properly and engine alingment done correctly, will last forever and give you zero problem's. I'm all about better mousetrap's, but in my opinion (for what it's worth) this isn't one of them. What is it that you could look to abtain that isn't already there, in a properly installed system. Just my thought's, Frank

I caught a fish once :)
I've heard it really cuts down on vibration and noise. Both because the drive force is applied directly to the hull, and, because it does not require precise alignment, you can soft mount the engines. I've also heard that driving some of these big boats at such high speeds causes shaft whipping problems that these systems can solve. They also claim to cause less hydrostatic drag at high speeds.
That said, these are issues for people who want to drive a big boat real fast. Not likely to be cost effective for me anytime soon
