Just bumping this for another try. I still have not connected with a single other Albemarle 36 owner. Just looking for some insight on what I should be watching out for.
I did see one of these for sale on Cape Cod recently on Yachtworld but it was really low hours so the owner probably doesn't have too much to say about it.
No first hand knowledge on a 36 here man, but we run a 31 and can't say enough good things about it. When I first saw this post a while back I looked up the 36 and all I could say was "damn". That thing looks phenominal. Good luck in your search, and let us know how you make out.
Thanks for the feedback Shoefish. I did purchase the boat but it will be staying in NC for the winter. All I could think on the seatrial was "Hydrographer, Oceanographer" and "No more waking up @ 2AM and running in the dark" (moving back to overnighters).
5 Months to go until I pick it up and then I will be doing some spring fishing in MHC to get this boat dialed in before I run it back.
Shoe, would be glad to have you jump on for a canyon run sometime.
Also, if anyone wants a really dialed in twin engine Yellowfin 36 (2007) mine is available through Jarrett Bay. Can't say anything bad about the boat, other than it doesnt sleep a family of four for overnighters (hence the move to the Albemarle).
why are you waiting for spring time! hydro and veatch calling us right now! http://marine.rutgers.edu/cool/show/...1.0206.n17.jpg
on a more serious note, the albemarle should be an awesome mix of your last two boats, speed and comfort... have you been hiking in the snow yet?
if only ever fished the 28 but I would imagine it's even more badass. All I can say is it's going to be the longest winter of your life. Been there done that
dunn - been thinking about doing the GBFT thing but I can hitch a ride on another boat down there which wuld be a lot quicker and easier. problem for me is lack of vacation right now.
canyonjunkie - i missed the last snowstorm (work again). looks like we are getting hit tomorrow so the october tracks tradition may continue if i am lucky with a wednesday morning hike.
