Aluminum boat help

I recently got a 16 ft aluminum boat for free and it needs work. The seams of the boat are "cracking". Being a new boat owner what type of product can I purchase to fix this problem. Is there a spray or do i need to completely re-caulk the seams. Any info will be helpfuf. Thanks in advance!!

What ever you do - don't mess around with caulck.. It won't hold for more than a few hours running. If you are just looking at a few stress cracks, try some JB weld.. Easy to apply and don't need a welding machine.. You can probably pick it up at the hardware store. If the cracks are wider than say a pinky - or a half of a pinky really depending how big your hands are, find a metal worker who works with aluminum.. Those boats are really easy to tackle if they arent beat up too bad. Should'nt cost an arm and a leg. Good luck.

Does your alum boat have riveted seam or welded seams?

Gluv-it is a coating that can be bought at Boat US, West marine...etc.

It's a flexible, abrasion resistant coating that is used on drift boats. It makes the boat slide along with ease and will stop the leaking too.
