    Albemarle 41' Express

    Does anyone have any experience with this boat? Ride, quality, fuel consumption, etc. I was looking at some used ones with Cat C 12's and it looks like the layout is great and I have heard good things about Albemarle in general but not much specifically about the 41'. I have also heard that since being Brunswick owned they may have cheapened a bit on some of the construction. Does anyone know what years that would affect? Thanks for any info.

    Just happen to have one for 4 seasons now. It is a great all around boat, the only dislike I have is the tackle storage. Something like the Cabo expresses would have been nice.
    As far as the numbers here they are:
    1800rpm= 27kts, 1950rpm 30.2 kts, 2050 rpm 31.4 kts
    at 1800rpm you are burning 38 gph and 44gph at 2050rpm
    You will love the ride. The only seas that will slow you down is a nasty tight 3 1/2 to 4 foot or bigger head sea. Very stable when trolling and no problem raising fish to the flat lines. [Catching now thats anther story]
    Brunswick took over in mid 2006 I believe. Any issues I had were quickly handled by our local dealer.
    On the C-12's I have the platium warrantees, again a couple of minor issues wre quickly handled.
    Hope this helps, any other ? feel free to give me a shout.

    I had looked into this boat. The rumor is that the hull was pretty wet at first and the strakes were modified (hence the strange 'shark tooth' look up front). Other than that everything I heard was positive. Pretty efficient for a 41' and love the interior.

    PS forgot the most important spec for some. At WOT 2330 rpm she will top out at 37.2kts with fresh bottom, tuned props and idle sea conditions.

    The Albemarle 41 is a nice boat with good speed. Helm deck area is well designed. Note: Albemarle is back in private ownership as of 12/31/08 - no longer a part of Brunswick. The new owner is not part of the founding Harrell family. However, being back in private ownership should be a good thing for all concerned.
