    adding a 3rd battery..

i want to add a third battery to my electrical system..i want this battery to be just for my electronice so i want it to be isolated but be able to start the engine if ever needed...i currently run two btteries but have some voltage issues with my electronics if the engine hasen't been run in a while. like if i key my mic on the vhf the gps shuts down and my stereo will blink as well...i know i know i'm an electrician but this is got me twisted around...any suggestions?

    3rd Battery

Sounds like a weak battery to me. I think I would have the batteries tested before adding another.

Still sounds like a battery problem. Keying the mike should not draw enough amperage to effect your other electronics unless you have a bad cell on one of the batteries and it's drawing down the other one. Try running on each battery alone and see if one does it and not the other.

Here is the URL for a good site to get the answer from a pro http://easyacdc.com/ . They will tell you how to wire the batteries if in fact that is what you decide to do.
