74,

The deal is done.

The motor checked out clean, and strong. $$ changed hands and I have the title. The motor is an Evinrude not a Johnson. (the motor cover was changed out 'cause the original was faded.)

I had to go to Arkansas over the weeked and do some building. Got back home last night. Doing the water test either today or tomorrow.

I'll post some pics when I get her cleaned up.

More to follow.

Sweet!! I'm sure you'll love the ride! Lemme know how you make out!

How often are you out this way? Your "home" is Arkansas, not here?

74F233,

I am here (RI) most of the time. I am an Arkansas resident and have a nice Log House up in the woods that I built after I retired from the Army.

I went back to work for a company that has an office in Middletown and I have an apartment here and run their RI operations.

82F233.... Maybe I'll change my moniker.....hmmm

You must travel back and forth quite often.....well, you get the best of both worlds.....woods and water

All,

Went out for a test drive yesterday.

Smooth as butter! Motor ran well, sounds good. Idles like it should.

5500 rpm at WOT. 37 on the speedo, didn't have GPS with me.

I have pictures but I don't know how to upload.
Any help would be appreciated.

Now all I need is a name. I am leaning toward "IAAH". Pronounced, i-uh. Which is the first word I uttered when my wife asked if I was buying another boat....."Iaah, Iaah, guess so, dear". It also could be an acronym for "It's All About Her".

37 MPH is plenty. That's all I have been seeing driving around with a dead cylinder LOL, and I never knew the cylinder was dead, because she ran so well anyway hahaha. Ah, the nice redundancy of simple, old-school motors!

rw, if you post a message, look down below and there is a section called "Manage Attachments" and you can pick and load up to 5 pics. Then you go back up and hit submit post. If you have trouble, send them to me, I'll post 'em.

I'll try that. Thanks.

By the way, are the heads back from the shop for that old-school 302?

No, plans have changed a bit.....tried finding already rebuilt but they are all "hack-rebuilt" and I'm not going down that road! LOL

Dropping them off at another engine shop this afternoon and he promised them to be ready next Thursday night. I figure I'll take Friday off and get her back together for Holiday weekend!

He's going thru them soup to nuts properly!

Stainless one-piece high performance valves, new guides, seals, hardened performance seats, performance springs, etc.

Should be nice when done

74,

You won't regret doing it right the first time. Good luck.

What's a good file size for pics?

How big is TOO BIG for this kind of posting?
