I fished on a 61' this past summer. the former L&H. unbelievable machine. the owner had a teak transom put on her which truly made the boat. She cut and punched her way through everything. Speed and economy were outstanding!!
The later 58's (I think there were 3) jig was stretched 3' to be the 61. The cockpit was lengthned. The 58 was a great boat as well, but the added length improved the ride considerably.
The rounded deck house and bridge of these Garlingtons was the inspiration for the present carolina boats house style. Spencer, Bayliss and others gave their boats that radius and rake. It is now pretty much the way all of the carolina guys are building them.
Beauties................!!!!
