    60 Footers, Hatt vs. Vike

Pretending for a moment we are actually in the market for a 60 footer (I did buy a lotto ticket yesterday), which one do you like better. Assuming also that we are limited to production boats. Until the GT series came out, I had to avert my eyes every time a new style Hatteras went bye. But the new GT's I can look at without wincing. I've never been the biggest fan of the Vike look either, but it has grown on me over the years. Both offer a four stateroom model, which is a sin qua non for me. Pretty much identical engine options, the Vike holds 160 gal. more fuel, and an extra 100 gal. fresh water. I have no idea what they cost, but I would assume they are pretty close pricewise.

Tough choice, I'd really be torn, especially as I'm an old Hatt guy, but I think the Vike's layout and cockpit give it the edge. What do yall think?

If you're going to own it for more than two years, Hatteras has the best factory support around. They also don't have a spotty history like Viking. No stories of rotting stringers or gelcoat failures. Viking has come up quite a bit recently, but until I hear otherwise I'll stick with Hatt's track record.
