We are moving right along on the project now, most of the wiring is in along with a new shelf and lighting for the engine room.

There has been a delay in the shipping of the transmissions ,which gives us more time, so the owner has decided that he wants to install shaft tubes to replace the old bolt on style shaft logs that were on her. We are also going to put a tube on the shafts all the way to the aft strut while we are at it, the length of the tube worked out perfect and made it really easy to do with out having to have any machine work done.

This is the timber that held the old shaft log, this is after it has been cut out to make the tube fit. After it is aligned with the strut it will be glued in placed and finished .

Here is the tube sitting in place before it gets glued in.

This is the shaft tube in place from the hull to the aft strut. This will be a nice addition to the boat when it's done.

Bobby must build them right.

The tmbers are dry as they should be.

It's looking real good.

I noticed that the Bondng system is in also.

It looks like the delay with the gears will only help you get everything else ready.

I'm looking forward to the next set of pictures.

Delays are a good thing .............. sometimes. This was one of those times. We did find a little wet wood around the old shaft logs when we pulled them up but the nice thing about juniper is that it doesn't rot and you can dry it out. It's just a pain to try and cut or shape when it's wet.

Elson is finished helping on the project, he is getting his rig ready to go to Florida for the winter but I did get a couple of honest days out of him !!!

Capt. Troy How does one change the strut bearings after you have put the shaft tube in place?
Hope to see the Predator have this done in the next year. Ahh...new engines...
