Being someone who rigged electronics on tons of Post's, I can honestly say they are one of the nicest around. While every other builder started cutting corners, they kept to the same plans, and as a result, are no longer around. They keep the same motto as my company, "Do something right, or don't do it at all".
In a following quarter sea, they are a little funky, but other than that, they are hard to beat.
I am thinking of redoing a 41 apache, do you think you can help me Todd?
not wanting to pee in anyone's corn flakes but....... that vintage 46/47 post is probably the worst riding boat in the ocean second to a 42', when post started putting in the higher hp engines from the 310 hp detroit the boat rode too far back on its hull and lost its entry, not to mention that the 46 was an extended 42' mold, i owned a 42 post with 310's and it was a great head sea boat, when I put 485hp Detroits in it it got that pounding everyone talks about, fished a 46 post with 450's and bent both rudder shafts in a following sea during the white marlin tourney and racked the fridge door from the constant pounding. If you are looking for an economical sexy timeless well built boat that you plan on using for your personal use on chosen days then this would be a great boat, if you are looking for a hell or high water gotta go fishing boat in the midatlantic, then run the other way as fast as you can. The boats style is timeless and they are built like a battleship with beautiful woodwork but the flat bottom is the trade off, good speed to horsepower but the ride suffers a little (alot) from it, great price for a fine boat just not a big water ride,,,,,just my two cents, good luck with your sale and good luck to those looking to purchase just thought a true representation would save a lot of grief to buyers traveling
