How is this boat on the drift? I know it will be a great head sea boat. Does it tend to roll as much as some berts? I know there is a lot of guys out there wth 38 converts. Any input would be great.
I own a 38 Bertram convertible and she's a great boat. Over the years I've also run a 38 special. It had been repowered and I must say she was flat out fast. 28 knot cruise through anything and the lack of the bridge reduced the higher weight enough that the snap roll was very limited. Overall you can't go wrong with the special, great head sea boat and with a true cruise with those engines at 23-25 knots she will surprise you how good the boat will handle anything you can throw at her. Besides you can get a 36 moppie and pay a hell of a lot more but get a boat that burns the same amount of fuel for the same amount of fun and only get there a little quicker.
that is one of my favorites...i know someone who re did one its awesome!!! i really like the look of it
they are good buddy's. come to think of it, bill is friend's with everyone that worked on that boat.........see it live, at breezee, lee marina in cape may. it is beautifully done. charlie does nice tower work,
Here's one with fresh power, top and tower in unusually good condition. Real cruise at 26 knots documented by factory technicians...
