I also have seen it. Its a full 2 ft wider than a classic 36 rybovich too. Its totally redone, and belongs in a flat calm, short run environment if you ask me. I have read alot about the first 1950 to 1960 rybovichs made. They sure struggled with things such as drying the wood before building the boat, for instance. I would be real careful buying something built back before........lets be real......Anyone really knew very much about building saltwater boats. I know, alot of guys from back then are famous, but How much knowledge do you think they really had???????????Sort of ......Lets try this, as a built technique. I ccan only tell you how much home construction has developed. A home built in 1960 is nothing like a home built today, is it? Im not blasting the boat......I hope the owner doesnt think I am but I would rather live in Hawaii with its calm seas with a boat like that than North Carolina. Wouldnt You?

Hubris.....they been building wood boats for thousands of years. The design works. Hell....the USS Constitution was built in the late 1700's. Its still floating!

In no way shape or form am I saying that this isn't a great boat for someone to buy. If I had the coin I would love to have this. I've worked on some custom boats that were 30+ yrs old and they are great boats but they need constant attention and when something goes wrong which it will it is usually a huge deal. There's only some much flex a hull can handle over time. Again if this boat is going to stay in a warm climate and not beaten on a daily basis it should be fine but a boat like this in NJ/NC, probably not the best match.

Yes - it is still floating - Copper clad Oak Planks if I remember... But the planks were on it before it floated...

I love it. If I lived in Central America........its for me. Chicken Salad for lunch, a nice pace of 20 kts, afternoon nap.......Life is good.
