Mary, I think I can make a comment on the height-visibility correlation. I'm not the tallest guy on earth. In fact, I'm exactly 5'8''. On my 33, I have absolutely no problems with the visibility. Another friend of mine, that is about 6', owns a 36. He has told me the visibility is fantastic. About the comment of not being able to fish from the bow. I've raised many muttons and groupers from the bow. Not really an issue. I love that the stern of the boat is close to the water. Makes releasing sails a whole lot easier. Transom door is a personal matter of taste. I like them, but it's not a huge deal for me.

I have 275 Verados on my Venture. At 4800 RPM she runs at 38 to 39 MPH burning around 32 GPH. The top speed at 6000 RPM is 49 MPH and that is with a tower with full controls. There are no doubt faster boats, but I dont feel that it is a dog. More like a Caddy with a very comfortable ride in virtually all sea conditions. Is it a perfect boat? No -but for what I do and how I fish I have not found a better one and I keep looking. Every hull design has trade offs-we all pick a hull based on what is most important to us and our use.

Mary- I am 5'7". The Venture console is on the big side for me as far as visibility but I like the head and storage room and the side access to it while underway. The Invincible console is less tall giving a little better forward visibility but the front access makes the console contents inaccessable while underway. Also the side rod storage cramps the space to either side of the console and makes it necessary to make the T Top shade smaller so that the rods can be lifted out without poking a hole in the canvas top.
The Invincible fishboxes are aft and relatively small. I think that most center consoles of this size have bigger fishboxes though no boat fish box holds ice well. On the Venture I have a 6 ft coffin box forward of the console but I dont see a great place for that on the Invincible without blocking access to hatches. I have not seen an Invincible with a tower-I am curious how comfortable they are in chop and beam seas. The impression that I ( and my friends) got from 2 days was that it is not as stable a boat in rough water as the Venture-Perhaps that is due to the weight? As I said , not a bad boat but seems almost like a specialty boat for SKA tournaments. Thanks for the compliment on my boat name!! Quote:

I made a crossing to the Bahamas a few years ago with the wind cranking steady at 30 to 35 out of the NE. It was an easy ten foot in the stream. I wouldnt say that I was comfortable and even thought about turning around but I wanted to get there. The boat had no problems with the sea- We just had to slow down because we kept coming out of the water and cavitating badly. I have made many crossings in 6 ft seas and felt comfortable and have taken my boat from South Florida to the Abacos, Eleuthra, Cat Island, Rum Cay and San Salvador. When I left San Sal one time I left a 57 Viking at the dock- There was a tropical depression and the Capt said that we were crazy and that if the owner wanted to leave, he would quit and fly home. We were fine and caught a wahoo and marlin on the way to Cat Island- The boat is a tank-It goes thru anything, sometimes you just have to slow down a little. It's not the fastest center console but I prefer arriving safe and in comfort.

i have to say that i agree with everything you just said. My friend owns the 34 and it is one of the best cc's i have been on. (If not the best) i have been checking out the 39 and i want it bad. I would definitely rig it with quads if i could afford gas and if it was rated for em i have also been checking out a 37 midnight express with quad 300's and have also been keeping my eyes out on the sea vee 390. Anyone have anything to say about these CC's. Hopefully in the next 5 years i can have one on my lift.
