I'm going to disagree with you Iguana. 33-40 MPH cruise on that boat is SLOW. I am about to take delivery on a 33 w/ twin Verado 300s. On a regular load, my cruise will be 40 MPH... getting between 1.8-2.0 MPG. That 36 will EASILY cruise in the high 40s-low 50s. The t-top is a Key West style t-top, which is very popular here in south Florida. Modified lower units? That boat has triple 300 XS... nothing different from those to any other 300 XS. For what it's worth, there was a race down here in one of the tournaments earlier this year. The big players were the 36 Invincible (Blue Bayou), 38 Fountain w/ quads, Deep Impact w/ triples, and a 36 YF with quads. Here is the picture from the helicopter.... http://www.endlessimagery.com/WWW/Fi...raceday613.htm http://www.endlessimagery.com/WWW/Fi...raceday618.htm http://www.endlessimagery.com/WWW/Fi...camera2157.htm The guy all the way in front is the Invincible. |

The numbers are what they are. He did not say that all of them run that speed. He simply stated that the one he test drove did that speed.

Re-read my post - I quote 33-40 knots, not mph, thats 37-46MPH or so, not slow In the northeast, people think in knots. I was also referring to the speed you actually run due to sea conditions, not what your boat will actually do. Aside from fuel burn issues, you cant go screaming around at 50 knots in most off the offshore weather we have unless you want to go working the throttles like an offshore races and replacing gearcases from loading them up every time your air it out. This isn't like those races in the videos. Guys here fish 100 NM + and generally are looking for a comfy cruise on autopilot. I don't want to turn this into the whole YF/Invincinible thing. I dont really care whose boat is fastest (that is why I only have twins and they aren't Verados). You should throw your boat on a trailer and haul it up here for one of the tournies. If you beat all the YF guys that will say a lot more about the boat...... |

I would like to add my 2 cents!
I will be going to the factory on the 12 and 13th to truly test these boats. Invincible is on my short list now with one other. And i need to see for myself if it is all it is cracked up to be...... There is alot of hype about this new company and from what i have heard these boats are animals they are running some serious speeds for sure. and i will have some pictures and maybee a video or 2 of the boats when i get back. Loius is your boat done yet? would love to talk to you aout it some more. if you can please give me a call 609 462 1472 thanks |

That would be an impressive lead for sure just doesn't seem remotely right tho, especially up against a Fountain. I am no Fountain expert by any means but a trip275's 250 38 has to run high 60's low 70's and with quads . Was the invincible the only one knowing there was a race? Can't comment on a deep impact or a YF. Maybe one of the Fountain & YF boys can help me out here?If its right I would love to know what props the boat is turning By looking at the deck layout on line on the boats gunnels look like a seavee, box lay out and topside look like a Contender, stepped bottom hull like a Fountain, overall lines look like a Contender and the rest in between look like a YF.

Iguana, my deepest apologies. You did in fact say knots, not MPH.
The pictures are truth. EVERYONE knew there was a race. It was highly talked about, and it was very hyped up. The Fountain SHOULD have won, but I don't know what happened. In no means do I want to make this an Invincible v. Yellowfin thread. I was just trying to clear some things up. |

I think you've got to take the "race" w/ a grain of salt. If I recall, one of the Invincibles ran out of gas before making it back to the dock - might have been "racing" a little lighter than tourny load - although I'm not saying it was the boat in front or not. There was a bunch of threads debating this event when it 1st occured, I can't remember all the details.
That said, the fastest of all those rides would be the quad Fountain - simple fact. I'm not saying better or worse, but straight line fastest - yes.

This is kinda ancient history...
http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=615302 Apparently the quad YF was broke, and the Fountain had a novice driver. But who really cares. All those boats are awesome. Is the Invincible better because it can go 75 mph with race prepped XS motors? The same boat with box-stock Suzukis didn't do so well in this race. I like the ESearider SeaVee with twins. Check-out the dude chillin at the stern.

There were two Invincibles in that race: the Blue Bayou and the light blue boat (no name). Both finished just fine. The race was a show, but there was a lot of trash talking going on before it. For the record, I think the light blue boat Invincible w/ triple 300 suzukis was neck-and-neck with the quad YF. Just bothers me how people made excuses after it, and there were even some heated discussions, even though "it was just a show." Anyways, all boats are beautiful and super fast and top of the line. |
