    350 yamaha check your knuckle

I have a friend that has a pair of 2010 350 yamahas . while underway last sunday his port engines steering knuckle gaveway and the whole engine came off of the boat . the motorbracket was still attached to the boat . the engine was running and cut holes in the stern and hull . only thing that was holding the motor on the boat was the steering arm . they tied up the engine and limped back in on one motor . the boat had been to the shop for another problem earlier in the week before it was used on sunday . they did not strike any objects while underway to cause this type of failure .

if you have one of these engines take a close look at it for cracks . just my .02

    i'm not doubting you...but...

"steering knuckle" could you explain what this part is ?

"only thing holding the motor on the boat was the steering arm" once again,i'm confused here...the "clamp" is what holds the engine on the boat-is this what broke ??

There was an 4 engine invinceble CC I believe **** one of the Verados hanging by cables

It was on Wileys site after the lauderdale show last year. The pictures showed hanging sideways trying to get back in the inlet on three engines. Must a been a few brown stains on that one. Hey jim I dont know what the proper part name is but I would probably be making up a few new words if it happened to me.
