I have fished on a few 32 opens. Very roomy overall for the size. Cockpit could be a bit bigger, but as long as ou are stand up fishing you will have all the room you need. I my opinion Luhrs are very nice afforable fishing boats. Are they the cream of the crop, not at all. But they provide a good fishing platform at an affordable price. My father was going to buy a 34 conv. but the creek we moved on was a little too shallow to get her in and out on low tide.
Biggest thing to remember is there is no perfect boat no matter the size, and if we all were rich and had money flowing out our pockets, EVERYONE would have custom built carolinas.
I looked at a 32 tournament at the beginning of the year and it was a nice boat but it didn't have a lot of cockpit space. My 25' had a bigger cockpit than that boat. It had the 454's and the owner said one motor was fine and the other had a bent pushrod. He said he had the new pushrods but needed to be installed. Asking price $35,000. Now, 2 days ago he comes up and says he'll take $20,000. It's been drydocked for over 2 years and I am a little worried on what might be wrong with it now. They are nice looking boats for the price.
I currently own a 2000 32' Luhrs Open and as previously stated, its a good boat for the money. Look at any surveyor's report and they all agree that its built right. Mine is for sale now, I plan to move up to a larger Luhrs.
I have a 32' for sale. Check it out at SFC items for sale. I hate to part with it. I think for money you can't beat it. This boat is loaded for $220,000.00. I get 1.08 mile per gal at 24 knots. What more could you ask for in that price range? Never had any problem with cockpit size. GREAT BOAT - GREAT PRICE.

I forgot to mention, Luhrs is a very good company but if you are buying new boat, I suggest you get your dealer to fix everything before making the final payment. Its hard to get the boat back to the factory. And getting people to your dock can be even harder. If I had any complaints it was with the final finishes, seams like they dropped the ball right at the end. Just little stuff - engine room needed cleaning, live well leaked, black over spray on riggers, that kind of stuff. Luhrs made a effort to take care of these items but it would have been a lot easier if the dealer would have jumped in a taken care of it for me.

here's my experience with luhrs boats...
a few years ago, there were huge hull void problems with the luhrs hulls...the factory actually had a team going to dealers to repair the hulls-not good huh ??
the boats have the absolute cheapest hardware and materials on them...the fit and finish is poor at best.the boats ride terrible-like a **** star..hard and wet !!
there's quite a few out on the market for sale, the price is usually very low, read that as they don't hold their value very well...
you may wanna reconsider your choice....
Overall good boat.
I currently have a 320 Open and I really enjoy it. In my opinion for the money they make a great platform. It has all the features for extended trips to the Islands. My boat has a Release Sailfish model chair in the cockpit and it seems to still have more room than other 32 model boats. If I had unlimited funds, sure I would order a custom But like I said a great boat for the price.
