27ft New Wellcraft

Possibly considering a New 2009 Wellcraft with Twin 225 Yamahas for offshore fishing. Looking for information regarding quality and ride? The boat sleeps 3-4 comfortably and has good factory options. Any owners out there with first hand knowledge?

i don't own one,nor would i ever,but...i can tell you this...i've seen quite a few of these boats,the coastal series,both the 290's and the 270's with problems in the hull to deck joint.these are not sealed from the factory-the hull and the deck "work" together,and there's big problems...the ride is terrible and the construction is equally as bad...

Jez jaws you need to write reviews for the magazine. blunt and to the point no bs. sleeps 3-4 comfortably and cruses 60kts in 100 foot seas.

ever read a bad review of any boat,in any magazine ?? every boat is dry as a bone,rides fantastic-50kts in 10' seas,with a 5 second period,and never got a drop of water on the enclosure-that's usually how they go...

Ha. You sound just like Dean Travis Clarke. How is the snap/roll moment? I'm quite sure that no credibility can be given to those boat tests. I could be wrong though.

you would be surprized,people actually believe what's written in them,and people really believe the mfg's advertising catalogs too...

years ago,tred barta,wrote a few boat reviews,one was for an "ocean tech" boat,and another was for a 47 buddy davis...needless to say,i do not believe he wrote another...
magazines,they're not interested in selling the truth,they're interested in selling advertising dollars...read what's out there for magazines,"the big game journal",waste of time...there's a newprint magazine "the fishermen",another waste-good for "paper training" the dog...you want real information you can actually use about a boat,ask a pro,someone who works on this stuff everyday...want a fairy tail ?? read a magazine review...

I can't argue with what you said about the 27' & 29' but I know first hand about the 33 Coastal. It's the best boat I've ever had and very happy with it. I ride my boats hard and push them to the limit. Boat is a 2004, bought it brand new in 05. I can honestly say I have No problems with it (knock on wood), and have no stress cracks anywhere. So to respond on your feelings of owning one, I would buy another. No doubt in my mind !!!!!
