Good advice from jawz

Damn Jim! You spread it out on the table. I dont know half of what I think I know about boats? But honestly If I had a choice of asking the average surveyor to look at a good old boat for me or a boat repairer like you? Duh I think Ill go see Jawz. Its sort of like having a tumor in my stomach that is going to require surgery to fix the problem. Gee I think Ill see a psychologist and see what he thinks is wrong? Hes does not open up people every day? What can he know except what he reads!

24 topaz side console

I also have a 24 with a new volvo 41P just turned 200 hrs. all redone with tower and enclosure and 3 wheel venture trailer looking to get $28,000. email mail and I can send pix. Having mixed feelings on selling, also have a 32' performer, 32 cary clone, the 24 is sure more economical.

Home Port: EAST COAST
Best Catch: There is always something better!

My vote would most likely be for the 26 Strike providing they are building them the way the use to. I have heard great reviews on them, i just do not know much on the 26 in itself. I was on a bigger one a few years ago and it was very nice with diesel power cummins

Yep, We had some good memories on that boat. I can't find a picture of the boat on this computer, I'm still looking on my other computer but that thing was the ultimate mosquito fleet boat around. It had a set of large Lee outriggers, that yanmar was the perfect package for that boat.

Trolling that boat doen on the edge was a trip. My buddy and I wouldn't think twice about taking it 50 miles down to the New York shipping lanes.

If I were in looking at the boats that you're looking at I'd also include the Cape Cod 25. The one that was made before Albin took them over.

Although I did like the cuddy on my boat. I stored a lot of gear in that cuddy including all of my safety gear, insulated raft, gumby suits, ditch bag.

If you find a gas powered boat cheap, stuff a yanmar 230 Hp engine in her and have fun.

The only real bitch I had about the boat was lack of fish storage space and the batteries were a pain to get to.

Have fun shopping. Should find some nice deals out there.
