Hey Jawz this maybe a stupid question, but none of the boats Ive owned have had a closed cooling system. Is that what the air pump is for?
air pump,it works like this, atatch it to the schrader vavle and pump away-there's an accumulator at the bottom of the engine,it has a vavle that releases, dumping the entire raw water side of the cooling system...
this is a really old thread...
a clsoed cooling system is nice, allows the engine to run at a slightly higher temp-allowing the engine to operate more efficiently.as far as corrosion is concerned,i've never seen an engine with a problem due to being raw water cooled-read that as rusted through,if the engine has water,be it fresh or salt in it's cooling jackets, there's an absence of air, therefore,no oxidation...manifolds and risers still need to be replaced every 4-5 seasons-cooling water exits...
wiring:
sure looks nice when it's done correctly huh dave ??
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.
