I have a 2003 25 CC with a 300 KAMD what kind of questions do you have about your motor? Other sources to check-out would be www.carolinaclassicboatowners.com and www.boatdiesel.com

i was told from a not so reilable source that the kamd had a compressor problem. being the 25's are so heavy that that the compressors burn up after minimal use, also at trolling speeds mine seem to constantly run.i'm worried that trolling for 8 hours a clipp my be doing more damage than its worth.volvo said that some guys are installing a cutoff switches to prevent the compressor from running while trolling.how does the 300 push your carolina.mine gets 22kts fully loaded for offshore at 3400rpm burning about 11/12 gph

i repowered my old 31 bertram with these engines,5 seasons, notta problem !!...installing a cut off switch for the compressor is a good idea,if the noise is getting to you

be sure and use volvo coolant on those engines and use distilled water only-reason being, the cheaper grades of antifreeze have a huge anount of silicates, these will actually bond to the tubes in the heat exchanger, causing an insulation, end result...engine runs warm...

it's a good idea to pull the injectors and "pop test" them after a few seasons...

make sure you got that boat propped correctly too...that engine should spin 3,900 on the pin...you wanna see that number...

I hate those compressors!!!..

I fish on a clients boat and ideling around sucks with that thing going in and out! the best thing I can tell ya is to keep up after the air intake ...keep them clean and keep coolant in the lines and the sea water pump working 100% they are a tempermental engine when it comes to heat down here in south florida.

the compressor will not engage till you hit approx 1,800 rpms...if that compressor is engaging at idle you've got a problem...
