What kind of numbers should we see from this set up??Yamaha 250 4stroke 3 blade ss prop RPM And Speed??I ran this boat in about 3ft sea 5sec. apart at 5600rpms and 47mph is that good for this boat? Could we get more speed with a Mercury Mirage prop.In the water way we ran 6000rpms and had it running 51mph.Thanks.
stanless yamaha ss=2 wheel correct? be sure not to beat on her and she will last a long time. just remember thats a yamaha not a merc run her off the pin you want to see 4200-4700 having fun starts to eat away at more than you need to push her or your wallet

I agree with Quest. Swapping props around is a give and take situation. Normally to gain speed you lose burn. For a couple mph is worth losing the economy that you have.
I am having a brain freeze at the moment as to the real time numbers on the last 23 open f250 boat I delivered and ran. Maybe CM Chef can chime in as its his boat.
I'm not sure about wot...I know ours runs 30mph @3 mpg in 2-3' coming back in from 40 out this is what we ran the entire time in last year on a tuna trip...
This is what I would also run as our cruise...as it was the best burn per speed I saw....
we saw 47 last year at top end...just not sure of RPM...
this set-up is amazing I must say...it's very quick and sips gas....
moral of the story...I think you're at your best numbers you will see...

Mary .. thats a meduim side heavy boat is it not?...
you have to think about this.. the hull on that boat is pretty deep veed and just to get her out of the water takes alot. be happy with a boat like that! don't beat her up or take years off the engine because you want three mph faster I see that way too damn much here then you got problems and no $ to fix. 'sorta like a bic lighter thing'.. every boat I run you look for for no vibrations, runs smooth, steers good, drifts good and dosen't take on water.. (almost equal to your girl looking great in blue jeans...) balance is what you need to find going fast has way too many price tags hanging on it that are in very small print.. and only get bigger when there is a problem...
while on the tabs in the slop ...I would opt for the four blade solaris (spelling). I like the mid range speeds with a a four blade. Just sticks in the water better as I see it. Good luck finding the sweet spot on that 250
The mirage has a bit more rake, which would lift the bow out of the water. May gain a 1/2 mph or more. Going to a 4 blade such as the Trophy plus or Rev 4 would decrease the loading on the prop and could provide you with some increase in fuel efficiency.
