    2001 Yamaha 150 2-stroke won't start cold

My 2001 Yamaha 150 2-stroke Whitewater has always started very easily. I did not use it for maybe a month and half (95 gal tank was half full) and then it would not start. It did start with starter fluid and then ran flawlessly all day in idle and wide open. The next day, got to the boat ramp and it would not start. A sniff of starting fluid and it fired up and ran all day again. I shut it down and started it back up fine. Day 3, I tried to start it in the yard, and same thing. I changed the fuel/water seperator, all six spark plugs. Still not helping. I have not tried to start it with fluid after changing those things.

Electric choke is working, and manual choke did not help.

    Any thoughts...

air leak in the fuel line somewhere up high? did you try pumping the bulb a bunch of times? Does it act differently that what you were used to before?

sounds like you're not getting any fuel when you start it cold.I thought choke at first but you say choke works. Also try a new bulb.they're fairly inexpensive and they can lead to your symptoms if there is a leak in it.Good luck.

If any of the above suggestions do not help, check your fuel pumps.May be a pinhole in the diaphram.

Those diaphrams in the pumps get soft and floppy after a while, too. And they are way simple to change out.
