You can go to yamaha's site and they have it on there

    http://parts.yamaha-motor.com/?ls=outboard

Your engine model will be LZ150TXRD OR Z150TXRD. It will be on the engine bracket or warranty card. The Z & LZ denote the rotatation and would be important for gear cases and the letters behind denote the year, shaft size, tiller arm or not. If you are not looking for any of those items and you are looking for a basic tilt and trim or electrical part you can use either or model.

The exact model would be the best idea, the year is very important sometimes as changes are made after production and parts sometimes superceed year to year.

Thanks so much! Once more question since I have your attention! The power trim resivoir was emptied accidentally (the motor was in the up position, cap was removed and motor was lowered,,,,fluid went everywhere)

    1. When we try to manually lift the engine into the up postion...it gets 1/4 of the way up then stops. is there a way to do this so that i can get at the resivoir in order to add fluid?

    Thanks

With the reservoir where is it located? Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing

i would say that is it...although i am recalling from memory. when the motor is in the down position, everything is hidden. thats why i am having so much trouble. i cant muscle the motor into the up position to get the fluid back into the resivoir.

How come the cap was off to start?

You are going to need 1 - 2 people to lift that and a 3rd to engage the trailer tilt lock lever. Might have to remove the bleed screw in order to lift, forget its been a while.

When you put that cap back if make sure if there is an o-ring that it gets replaced if its suppose to be there

its not the oiling system for the actuator...but the resivoir for the pump as you indicated in your first diagram. The motor was raised to check the fluid level. The cap was removed to check. another person wanted to see if the bypass screw would let the motor down....the screw was backed off and the lock was disengaged....complelty forgetting to put the reservoir cap back on....i know...i am an idiot!

Oh ok makes sense now. Just for future reference don't remove the screw all the way

Make sure you bleed the air out of the system.

Those units don't need much attention unless there is signs of corrosion allowing water in or signs of an oil leak. Not a bad idea to check them tho. Those puppies are not cheap and are a pain in the arse to rebuild
