1997 Albemarle Refit a two Year project coming to a end!

Hey every one! We used to have this forum up on here but for some reason it has been removed. About 2.5 years ago we had finished refitting a 29 phoenix. Then we found a Albemarle 305 with a great hull but the motors were shot. So we decided to take on another project. In this forum I will be posting pics from the before, all the way through the stages of transformation.
Over the past two years the motors have been completely taken down and all parts replaced, painted and put together. Custom machined components have been utalized to make the boat and machinery better.
When pulling the motors we noticed that the engine brackets were pretty low grade and crappy! So we redesigned the mounts! We also pulled apart the engine room and awlgrip and rewired and re-insulated the engine room. We also went further by adding Airsip's and mych custom machineing was done to integrate everything. Gauges were added to the helm in a custom machined gauge pod. Led lights were added throughout the engine room, hull and helm area.
Many blemishes in the hull were cared for and the hull was resprayed a custom Awlgrip color. All stainless steel components were removed from the boat and wetsanded and polished. The list continues to get bigger.

In each of the Cat 3116 we spent a pretty penny in makeing them just right. No expense spares on this boat!

Carlos My father is has an amazing eye for imperfections and quality. The first ting he noticed when the motors were pulled out was the lack in engineering of the engine mounts. Fortunatly, he owns a Machine Shop which specializes in Rail, Aerospace, Marine and Military applications. Here are some photos to show a major improvement!
The motor mounts had no support and were all manipulated, esentially translating to inefficiant propulsion.

This was an interesting day. Our friend brought a crane truck over and we prepared to hoist them over the boat house into the boat.

Right.... I'm working on a bracket to mount twenty of those things on her.

A friend of mine broke a stainless bolt in the "what passes for Aluminum" tiller arm. I had to turn my thinking on it's head a bit to come up with a way to fixture the arm to drill and Heli-Coil it without removing the arm.

Sometimes it's using it as a glorified drill-press, but that Bridgeport is the cat's @$$ when you're trying to drill hard bolts out of soft material.

That is priceless, I cant tell you how many times we use the CNC's and bridgeports for small jobs, a bit of overkill 9 times out of 10!
