    1977-78 V6 200 Evinrude Outboard

Hello all.. I have this 1977 Grady White with a 200 v6 Evinrude outboard on this boat i have in my garage as a project boat. This motor came with the boat because when i got the boat it has everything that came that year from gages to the trailer. I have bben cleaning it last few years and going to fire up the motor this year. Checked lower unit oil clean as can be. The boat sat in a building for 25 -27 years. The wife of the man that owned it said they only used it 6 times before he passed away it sat there after that and wasn,t used. I got it and cleaned it up and did small repairs to canvas, seats etc. My question is i got no books on this motor, and my other Grady White i fish with is a lot newer motors...Can any one tell me the oil to gas ratio, there is two tanks one under the floor and a 6 gal. steel tank. To start the motor i have the line hooked to the 6 gal. tank. How many pints of oil should i mix with that 6 gal tank to when i start the motor after sitting a long time? Thanks for any replys and help.

Run a 50:1 mix regularly, but since it has been sitting for so long run a double mix through it.

Thanks for the information on my motor, im getting some oil this week end and mixing it like you said to start up, see how it goes after sitting for a while, i think that was a good motor they made back then so if small stuff is wrong with it will be worth getting it fixed. I want to keep the 1977 Grady White all original, like it was bought in 1977. Good Fishing from SaltyRon

Since the engine has been sitting for so long I would install new fuel pumps, have the carbs rebuilt, and have a water pump installed. Then you should be good to go.
