What ever you decide in that length..water is coming over the nose in the sea you described. Watch these vids and decide. They are over your side of the pond

Gale force is the description the video link works but the server over there is way under powered.

calm day pics

these are real eight footers with a 10 for good measure

Not to steal the thread or anything but those are some BAD ass boats in those videos to do what they are doing.
I am going to disagree with everyone a little bit here. 6-8 footers and even 10-12 could not be that bad. You never did tell us how close they are. 6-8 footers 15 seconds apart are beautiful. A little more info needed here on those wave heights.
There are tons of companies that can withstand the punishment as long as you can. Henriques, Albemarle, Carolina Classic, Cabo are all good names for boats in that size range. Never been on a Cabo but I am sure they ride well and I can tel you the Carolina Classic and the Albemarle do well.

I have to agree with rich. 6-8 footers 15 seconds apart are beautiful. Especially with a slight offshore breeze, A-framing on an inside sandbar/beachbreak.
oops. yall were talking about fishing. I still agree with rich. But, not a second closer together than that at true six to eight foot. Nothing is cozy at 10-12 foot unless it is a ground swell from 1000 miles away, or you are on a Wesmac.

Hey ant that was built up in a matter of 2 hours. It came out of the north eat and we were down at massys. Plot the course and tell me where we would be taking it. I'm not lying with you on this one. The waves were stacked up in no time. If your ever in the area or when we come down south this winter come out and see for yourself. Hands down the nicest riding boat I have ever been on.

Didn't fish today last time we fished we ran out and in at 30 kts. 2-4's on the way out and 3-4's on the way in.

I know your busting my balls but i guess i just got to take video of it on how this boat runs. I've been in alot of shitty weather over the last few years but nothing was like the day of the south jersey shark tourny. But we had waves equal to my head standing up driving at the helm station and thats not low to the water on that boat

must not be in NC 6-8 every 6 seconds thats special 8-10 every 7 seconds thats shitty. Only rig i've ever fished on that could make above 20 kts or better in that was a 59 or 64 Paul Spencer.

Sorry guys Original Question a bit mis- leading I supose, Often when we leave harbour in southern England and run 60 miles to a wreck the seas are 2-3 feet, by mid day they have grown and are rollers 4-6ft nice 15 second timing by the time to go home, oh boy they have grown depending on tide its either head on or up the butt and timing changes, down to worst that I have seen and been out in about 5-7 seconds and a full 15 ft breaking, they roll straight out of the atlantic all the way from NJ your side of the pond. the interceptor range of boats are good but purely a "commercal fit out" if you understand even though they say luxury its still very Basic, no live wells no fish boxs etc it is what it is a Pilots boat, which you can fish from if you want to. Another reason that I asked the question, I have only seen in "general" I must add, "Nice weather" videos, the sea is flat enough to water ski on, apart from box early season b/f fishing, or was it you john seafood, anyway your early season is like ours all year yes we do get windows when all is calm but upside down is the norm . Hence the original question, by the way Silverton boats have arrived here and Albin are doing a 45te which is now also avaiable any words?
