Sm 2-3 angler parties to join us on the 55 Hooked Up II for Giant Bluefin Tuna
We will be offering some limited 2-3 person maximum charters at very reasonable rates fishing for Giant Bluefin Tuna out of Morehead City, NC in December and January. We will be commercial fishing only this coming winter but welcome small parties to join us and experience the thrill of winter GBT fishing. For those that have caught or fought Bluefins in the 100-150 lb class off the mid-Atlantic coast in the summer and thought they were a hand full you have will be truly amazed at the raw power of these 300-700 class tuna. This is great way to break up the winter doldrums for those that live up in the NE without spending a lot of money and get away for a few days. These are not regular charters as the boat will keep all GBT that are legal size and sold commerically. There is also the distinct possibility that we could fish without one bite during your time fishing with us as GBT sometimes just do not cooperate and we have gone in the past a week or longer without any bites but if we have one of those banner days it will truly be trip that everyone will remember for a lifetime. At the present time there is no way to know how many GBT will be arriving off the NC coast this winter but we can only hope that we see decent numbers showing up in early December and staying around for at least for most of January. It really is kind of a hit or miss game when fishing for GBT and do not want to mislead any one that might consider coming down to Morehead City, NC but if we do hook up to one there are very few fish swimming in the oceans that have the raw power of a GBT. I have caught hundreds over the last 10 years and it still amazes me when a half a spool or more of Jerry Brown Spectra is dumped from a 130 class reel with 45 lbs of drag. I feel most tuna fisherman from the the NE will enjoy getting away from the harsh winters for a few days and we often see day time temperatures in MHC in the low 70's in December and into January plus sometimes the giants are only 5-10 miles from our dock. From most NE cities it is only a 8-10 hour car ride or short airplane ride on US AIR and the motels and restaurants are very reasonable along with our charter rates. With the present state of our ecomony and gas prices dropping a short 2-4 day GBT trip to MHC might be worth considering to break up the winter. It really is a fun way to get away plus the oppurtunity to join our crew and possibly catch a tuna of a lifetime. We have put together a top notch crew including a captain who was the mate on the winning boat in last summers Ocean City, MD White Marlin Tournament in the Tuna Division catagory plus my personal experience of fishing for giants since 1998. If your group of 5-6 anglers is looking for a regular charter for GBT we suggest contacting one of the fine charter boats listed on Sportfishermen.com and I am sure they can accomadate you as we are only interested in small groups to join us.
Contact us for additional information about December and January Giant Bluefin Tuna and from late January-March for Trophy STRIPERS 30-50 lb plus off Virginia Beach, VA.

Our prices on the 55 Hooked Up II fishing for GBT out of MHC
Looking to get about a $150.00 per day per angler. I would like to keep the groups to 3 or less and if you have a group of 3 it would be $400.00 per day for all three anglers. My goal is to simply offer some people the chance to see what it is like to fish for GBT and cover some of our expenses. If you joined us for 3 or more days fishing I would offer a better price and we can discuss this.
