Scout 280 Sportfish/ Thru Hull ducer

Does anyone have any experiance with installing a thru hull in a 280 Sportfish. I have been in the bilge and it just doesnt look possible. Im trying to upgrade the bassfishing bottom machine that was on it when I bought it and I just dont see anywhere to cut the hole..... or is there a transom mount that will compete with a thru hull?????

Scotty, Airmar has a new 1kw transom mounted ducer, check out their website. Tell Jason to get up with me this week and let's look at the bilge area again. My Sea Hunt didn't have much room either but I got it in there, worked great!

OK Ill tell him, its not a space thing I can just about lay down in the bilge, its a design thing it looks like the ducer would have to be about 10 to 12 inches long, you will have to see it. like I said Im dumping the Lowrance unit thats on it and going to a Furuno chartplotter and Furuno FCV 585 sounder as a stand alone unit. Ill check out Airmar transom mounts though thanks.... oh yea boxed a 67# thursday and went north on the Pee Dab today ask Gray about that trip, the smallest YFT I have ever seen
