Question New Radar Installation Question

I bought my "new to me" boat 2 1/2 years ago. I had a JRC 1000 radar. Which from day 1 never worked. I kept thinking that it was not tuned in correctly. Well went to the boat yesterday cell phone in hand. Called tech support in Seattle. The tech went over the settings with me and concluded that there is "some component not working". He tells me that the unit has been discontinued but if I send him the repeater and the radome. They would look at it and let me know if it can be repaired and the cost.
Thought about this for a few hours (maybe 1) and came to the conclusion to dump and buy new. So I purchased a Furuno 1715. This will work fine for me. Now in the spring I bought a Garmin 540s. It says on both the Garmin and the Furuno that they can connect to each other, where the LL from the GPS will display on the Furuno screen. The question is what type of NEMA cable do I need? Do I call Garmin or Furuno or both? Is there a universal cable that will connect the 2 units?
Thanks in advance. BTW the radar has not arrived yet. I want to get everything so I can do a seamless install.
Thanks again

The Garmin unit includes the cable. For the Furuno unit you will need this cable - LINK
