I put out a plea on line that if there were any Ray reps that could help to please contact me. One did... He listened intently to my story and was good and heated up himself. He went right to work. Regional directors and senior people got involved quick. Got more done in a couple days than the last year combined. Yesterday their senior field tech showed up at the boat and basically started changing anything and everything that could be a problem. He continued today. Waiting on a couple more pieces and the system will be basically new. I don't impress easily and comming from where my head was a week ago to actually be thinking about Raymarine in a positive light is nothing short of a miracle... So if you have an issue and aren't getting the help you feel you deserve don't hesitate to ask to speak to a regional customer service rep or a field tech... |

Glad to see sombody standing behind their product.
Where are you these days Deep? Are you in Jersey? I am having some crazy problems with my Raymarine units that I can't figure out. Last time I put in a waypoint is was in the Hudson canyon and it told me to head East ![]() Can I pay them to come and take a look? These are older units (I believe they were factory installed in 2000) and came with the boat that I bought a year ago. I was thinking of getting all new stuff but that was assuming that I would sell my other boat which doesn't look good. Any info would be a big help. |

ive had very good luck with my raymarine e-series with a couple of glitches and had them fixed, if your in florida theres one gent ralph at rjs marine service in staurt, fl. this older gent is top on his game in ray, garmin and he takes care of it himself, he drove to okee to fix my problems and it was due to install and wireing and added a couple of things that wasnt there, i give him a 100% to his knowledge, hope this might help you in the future. rjmarine.com |

The problems I had stemmed back to the very beginning... A series of one bad thing on top of another. The unit I replaced in this boat was begrudgingly repaired by Ray and we installed that one in our smaller Contender. That unit has not had a problem since.
Various compnents of our current system came from "suspect batches" just a series of coincidental things... We had most every dealer and tech from Stuart to Miami take a look and they all were stumped. Wasn't just one thing it was several things feeding off each other and eating the whole system up. The tech yesterday and today did an incredible amount of work in actually short time frame... The auto pilot surprisingly was behind a lot of the issue... The course computer screwed up not only the Ap head... This backfired and disrupted GPS signal, wich in turn was damaging antennas for same. One of the gps replacement antennas wasn't sealed properly and filled with water shorting and damaging that system. Another replacement anteena was shipped in the box without its components... When it rains it pours... ![]() The DSM was having issues of its own and causing sounder outages. Then the sirius system that has never been run was evidently DOA... Some how none of the stuff ever interfaced with each other proerly and cooked the original display which was fone of those suspect batch things that had issues with "cold solder" fittings... This whole system was effectively a wreck short of the radar which has always worked... It needed this techs understanding...

I got kind of a kick when his own serius unit (The one he tests with) was also dead. He did explain that compnent though is made by sirius and not Ray...

Glad to hear that your issues got taken care of Deep. Was it the power of SFC and all the family members that got it taken care of? I missed the thread that mentioned your problems if it was, but I am glad to hear that you got it taken care of.

Though he treated me with red carpet I had the distinct impression that he would and the other higher ups would have acted the same way for any one big or small with any issues. |
