I recently sold my boat and fish with my buddy and his son. About 1 1/2 yrs ago he bought 2 Raymarine units from a company in Central Florida. This stuff sucks compare to the equipment I had in my boat. We think its got to do with the Sirius weather Satellite. Sometimes the whole frigging thing won't work
![]() . Last weekend he lost 300 wp's out of 400. The only ones that were lost were the ones NAMED ![]() The company that he bought his equipment from said they have never heard of this happening before. We are wondering every time we leave the dock if this crap is going to work or not. Plus he said every time he tried tech support they sucked. Your are the first person that I have heard say something positive about Raymarine. Oh ya and the dick that works the shows in the trailer, he acts like its like a big deal if you ask him question, like you are bothering him. Couldn't give me Raymarine. I hope it works out for you, good luck. |

Thats the kind of crap I WAS experiencing... I had to go around the service desk and yes that dick in the trailer too. Free Spirit here was indeed th pipeline to a rep... That rep got with some way high ups. They sent me their number one field man... He not only brought my stuff back on line the right way but he even was able to find waypoints I though I had lost... The people upstairs really do care... Whats kind of funny with their stuff though... The stuff on the 31 was a disaster from day one. We along the way had the main unit e120 take a crap in the Bahamas. Warranty couldn't help us there so we bought a new one. The busted one was repaired later under warranty. We installed that in our other contender and she has not missed one single beat... Rebuild way better than new... |

Can anyone recomend someone to put a new screen in my C80. This unit is only a few years old and the screen looks terrible. I never had any screen issues with my other units, Furuno and northstar. The only other problem I have is I keep losing the dsm. I have it wiring to a separate switch as recomended but constantly loose dsm.
Any recomendations? |

Less than perfect voltage can cause dsm issue... We had a bad connection at back of unit. Unplug and replug often fixed it. Rep fixed it for good... Free spirit was the field rep that got me in touch with right people. Drop him a line...

Not to point out the obvious, but buying cheap equiptment only results in cheap performance. You get what you pay for, and I would never bet my life on Raymarine getting me home. Raymarine is bottom of the line entry level electronics and will likely remain that way until they put themselves out of business.
