If you are removing the unit from the boat on a regular basis, and have to remove the cables, they tend to wear out at the connection points. There is a grease available that may help that problem. I think it is called something like Dielectric grease but I am not sure. Also, check to see that the locking ring that holds the cable onto the unit is tightened.

Steve,
Thanks for your help and reply. I have some of that dialectic grease and will give it a shot this weekend. We do have to remove the unit each time, so that is likely what is happening. Have a good week and thanks again, Ed |

Hey TT, thanks for saying hello.
We bumped bottom the other day coming in trying to work our way around one of the dredges. She had a small vibration afterwards and we had her pulled to get the wheels straightened out. She's good to go, and we're headed down there this weekend to try for a Rockfish. I hope this cold weather is good news on that front. I hope I can get this darn Fishfinder figured out as it's been bugging me for a while. Tight Lines, Ed |
