Question Autopilot repair North Jersey?

Fix three things another thing breaks. Eventually we'll have it all done but until then I have an issue and need a good man to help...

Robertson Ap300x... Showing rudder response failure. Just aint grabbing and I can still manually steer while the "A" is showing in the window...

Started last day of WMO. Thought it might be rough seas while setting spread. Lasted all day that ended in calm but worked just fine for run in... Run back north from OC didn't work. Still doesn't...

Need guru...

Sounds like the bypass valve in the pump unit...

The manuals are available here;http://cs.simradyachting.com/Index.a...wse=Browse%2c7

May as well be literature on babylonian archetecture... I have stuff with all kinds of schematics but being a dunce prevents me from understanding one word or diagram. I have a mayday call out to a guru but nothing is gonna happen fast...

Probably something simple and stuck as it was intermittent and now just doesn't work... I'm well versed in a lot of things but this aint one of em...

Not sure about your AP, but on mine there is a valve in the pump that closes when the AP is in Auto mode - it bypasses the wheel and lets the pump drive the rudders.

I've had that valve stick on a buddy's boat - very similar results - turning the wheel still steers the boat, AP won't hold course...

You are quite probably right... My issue is that I don't know where to look at the valve and wouldn't know how to unstick it if I did find it...
