Hate to hear this Bogie. You may have bent the crank when you hit the log or what ever. Also check to see if you bent the prop shaft, guessing from what you said, you did...When you looked at the piston, did you look at it "top dead center" also need ot look at it at "bottom dead center". One more thing, check the throw on the plug to make sure it is the same length as all the rest, sometimes things get screwed up at the factory...

Update Sure a snot #? 1 let go on the counter motor if your looking toward the prop the lower plug starboard side is TOAST
0 psi when you put it in gear and there is oil all over the pressure tester and a clanky sound
Puerto Vallerta has a Yamaha dealer a small shack with some oil cases on the floor and the manager told me they have never seen a 300 HPDI so I ordered a new power head from hardcore marine MIAMI with 2 new oil pumps
and 1 injector and a reed just to be safe
now the fun begins as it has to get here threw Customs and find the guy here in Mexico that can put it on
and under stand these sensitive engines

any advise is appreciated as im loosing fishing time every day.

good luck, might it be easier to find a young mechanic in the states and fly him down. Maybe find someone willing to trade some fishing and a little dough for doing it?

For what it's worth, our Yamaha mechanic who is also a personal friend here, told me that he had never seen a 300 HPDI here in the TCI. It may be that motor was not exported to 3rd world countries, and local mechanics may not be up to speed on it.

Any Luck? If I had the know-how to wrench on the motor I would jump on free fishing and a place to stay in PV in trade.

You broke a rod or wrist pin.If you had a bent crank you would know it.She is toast<hate to be the bearer of bad news but that's it in a nutshell.A slipper ring wont bend the electrode down 9 times out of 10.You're gonna need a new head also.

I'm surprised you don't have sportfisherman.com linked on your website. This site is 10 times the website that bloody decks will ever be, especially from a people perspective.

It could run on five cylinders at idle, right? Something would be making a racket at some speed though.
I KNEW I had read that here somewhere before...
