Price for 2004 Mercury 225 4 Strokes?
I have a pair of 2004 Mercury 225 4 Strokes on the back of my 34' Mirage. The engines have approximately 275 hours on them. I am considering selling the Mercs, which are really the Yamaha 225 4 Strokes painted black, and buying a pair of Verado 250s.
Can anyone direct me to some reliable information that tells me how much, realistically, I can expect to obtain from the sale of the Mercs? Much appreciated, Jim Senker |

Hey Jim. I see your boat stored at the rt 24 lot.
NADA puts the value at $9,530 each.

Just traded in 2 225 optimax's for 2 leftover 2005 250 verado's for my boat. Went to Almars in Delaware. Met them at the Atlantic city boat show. Got what I consider to be a great deal. Good trade in value and excellent value on the Verado's. Check them out and let me know.

Is it true that
Mercs are basically Yamahas?....but black if so would the NADA value be similar @$9,530....I only ask because I trying to sell my 2002 Yamaha 225 4-Stroke with all controls/hydro...basically giving it away with a trailer and boat package becuase I don't want to own two boats at once...just upgraded to 28 Topaz for canyons CAN"T FREAKING WAIT...but back to my comment...no results...maybe you'll have better luck since you got twins...good luck

trade in
I just traded in a pair of 2003 Yamaha 225 4 strokes (200hrs) on a a pair of Suzuki 300 4 strokes and they gave me 15k for the pair. My boat was always a bit under powered with the 225s, not anymore. The cruise is 7 knots faster using 5 gallons per hour less gas.
