The Iveco are made in Italy by Fiat and from everything I have hear they have a very good rep in Europe. BUT, on the resale, they are going to make the boat hard to move because no one has heard of them and service is hard to find in all areas. To read more about them, go to Boatdiesel.com to the Forum.

The biggest problem that may be encountered with Iveco engines is service availability.

Asking questions about your engine purchase is best done before the engines are in the boat.

Best of luck.

Had a 260hp Iveco in a 28 BHM years ago, great motor. The only problem was as stated the parts came from Italy so it sometimes took awile to get parts that would be easy to find on a american motor. Never reallt had a major issues with the engine though.

IVECO NEF60

I installed a NEF60 in my charterboat in '05 have put over 450 hours of trouble free running on it. There were a few glitches the first week with a faulty computer module, but this is common with ANY electronic diesel nowadays. The company has its US headquarters in Chicago, with an inventory of parts.
