I will say this though!!

when you get the 'right hp to weight to prop' you smile! the Intrepid with the twin 275 V's with that step in the hull is a fun boat to run! the owner loves to go fast and the boat hardly ever trolls very long untill it's back up on plane. (run and gun thing we do with mahi mahi fishing) I do want him to run the Eteks though. John those Suzukis you run out-sell the yamahas in Japan and you can prop that boat out nice for everyday fishing. for the guy who blew 1 dusky marine in dania has a set of suzuki 300's with warrantees*** my choice anymore with fuel and weight to hp is the 300 e-tek . there is a yellow belly ...opps yellowfin in the keys running them and he says he went 40% better fuel since the trade over with the e-teks and as fly by wire you can get electronic controls.. and they do not drink much oil! 90 gallons per 1 gallon is rule of thumb... anyway good luck with your engines I do hope they take care of you.

I have always been partial to to Johnson and Evinrude in the past years.

Just never clicked with Mercury. Not for any reason as I am sure some guys will swear by them. Just tonite I got a call from my cousin that he had to pull his boat because of engine problems. He has a 2008 Mercury with about 100 hrs on it.

I am now partial to my 225 Yamaha's one year this month and never a sputter.

So I guess my answer is no.

Just my opinion.

I'm more likely to get pregnant than own a Merc...

Sent>>>
Good Day Sir:
My name is Paul Cameron former Merc owner and potential future owner... I wanted to take a moment and relay that I am not a current owner because of an ongoing situation you have with a current customer, Mr. John Eppenheimer. I am very familiar with his plight and find that the handling of his case by Mercury Marine has been reprehensible. The man has not had one single trip in over two years where all three of his motors ran. No its not an issue of abuse or poorly trained mechanics working on them. It is a pure and simple case of a trio of lemons from a bad batch that your representitives have tried to ignore.
A lone customer has been through a nightmare and the team at your facility has shown that they are either unwilling or unable to lift a finger to help him. I have suggested to him on several occasions that he go public with his issues and/ or seek legal recourse. He has opted instead to try and remain friendly and go through proper channels to resolve this. As recently as last week yet another engine blew up on him... As a friend I could no longer hold my opinion and outrage to myself despite his repeated requests to do so.
I operate a fleet of five outboards and two inboards and with the customer service I have witnessed first hand not afforded to him I could not justify putting one of your products on the transom of one of my boats... Further as my opinion is resepected throughout several fishing sites on the internet, I can no longer justify remaining silent and letting my readers go forward with purcases without first enlightening them on this situation. Sir, the gate has opened on this going public. It is a direct result of your company's disregard for this individual. I can't close the gate. I can only suggest that you can by taking action and resolving the issues with his engines and ranmping up customer service as a whole.
Paul Cameron

not on your life

or anyone else. I like to fish. I don't mind traveling 2/4 hours to fish. BUT ONE thing I hate is traveling 2/3 hours to go fishing and have 3...not 1 but three (tres) motors take a shit and ruin my fishing time. Shove Verado 05 275 motors up mercury butt. I have been waiting for 2 years to go fishing on the Hydrasport......Every phone call is the same from John......Rob the VERADOS are down for the trip....We will try again after they come out of the shop.

It has to kill John to say that word !!!!!! You know the "NO"
word. John is a great guy who has put up with the terrible service from Mercury. I hope some one from MERCURY will come to the front and address this serious issue

Beta Testing products on a NON-DISCLOSURE to a cunsuming public is... well, let's just say...

Admin... if Merc does step up for ya, I'm out. Personally, I could care less what color my dollars are hanging off the rear of more dollars AS LONG AS THEY WORK when the key is turned.

Seems someone in Wisconsin better pick up the phone.
