    Torium

We use them to Jig in anywhere from 60-400ft of water for AJ's, Grouper, Snapper, and even Blackfin and Yellowfin in the canyons....and so far they have been great reels!!

I've been fishing the Torium 30's for three seasons now

Where does everybody have their reel handles set?

I just noticed there are TWO setting for the reel handle (length) and the factory had set them up with the SHORTEST length.

We do a bunch of groundfishing up here- down to 300 ft max, and wonder if this is a better set up?

Good point. I took mine apart to put the smooothdrags in them and put the handle back on the first setting. I'll switch them before my next trip.

I dont have a 30 but i have been using the 20 for 5 years now. Only difference between the 20 and 30 is line capasity. Both reels max out at 20lbs of drag out of the box. Stock drags will not hold up long and need to be replaced with carbon fiber and grease them (Smoothies) Antireverse is a weak point under max preasure. Great ground fishing reel. Good for jiging SBFT under 75 lbs.
