    Amazing work

You guys do amazing work......It is really an art, not sure you would see Da Vinci out there trowing his art work around in the elements......let alone have a 300 pound bluefin trying to pull the Mona Lisa out of his hands.......very nice

A fishing rod is used for fishing, art is to hang on the wall. All of the rods I build, and that Sean build are fished, some fished too hard - I've brokenseveral rods where I spent 25+ hours on teh rod, the last grip with teh B Boy is one of them which I broke swinging an 8# Blackfish into the rail, and trying to give it an extra ummph! over the rail.

PArt of the reason I posted teh plain pictures of the grips, is to let people know that it's not all about the art - I spend and take more pride in setting a rod up properly so it performs as good as it looks.

Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled program - people ask why my name is Billy 40...here a rod which answers that question. The crown from thr label is under all guides, which are IGMNSG's, this rod is from 2005:

    Sean,
Looking forward to also meeting you at the show. Thanks for the heads up on that Billy. I'll be the guy milling around, hoping that some talent wears off on me.

Last year I just came to go to the seminars and fix my planer rod. I'm coming ready to spend some money this year. I'll know what I want when I see it, that's for sure. I've got a feeling you guys will be carrying home a few blanks with my name on them.

Billy what when and where is the NERBS? I assuming its an equipment/boat/outdoor show? Also how do the grip inlays hold up under heavy fishing do you have any problems with the thinner pieces ripping out? Just curious some of them are so detailed it looks like they would be a ***** to get in there let alone stay in.
