where can I get triton 50w drags

i have an older triton 50w lever drag reel and the drag is extremely jerky on it. it is actually pretty comical to watch a run from a nice wahoo on it. zzzzzz zzzzzzz zzzzzzz zzzzzz where can i get new drags for it and is there some specific model or type. also how diffifcult is it to change out.

You are probably going to have to provide them some info, and may even have to use something close.

Also, you can contact Alan Tani who is helpfully to many. www.alantani.com

PS. Also you may have done this already, but since your on an island and getting parts may take a week or two, you might just open it up and grease the heck out of it within reason. Even if you loose a little top end, you may get a smoother drag curve.

The first thing you should do is open up the drag to see if it's wet. If it's wet, take a blow dryer for hair and dry it out. Never grease the fabric titanium drags in a Triton. If you do, they will be forever jerky. Alan Tani will tell you the same thing. These drags only work if they're dry and they work quite smoothly that way. On the other hand, Alan should be able to steer you to a carbontex drag washer solution and those can and probably should be greased.

thanks guys, does anybody have a parts list with an exploded view. i have never worked on a triton before and don't want to jump into it and then not be able to get it apart or back together properly.

send me your e-mail and I will send you the book that comes with them. I bought a few 50W and 80W and in one of the deals on the 80 it was new in the box. Someone else was looking for the same info so I scanned the whole book, 10 or so pages, and put in a PDF.

I would be happy to send it to you.
