I like that Spro I believe it is 8 oz. in the sardene color. Change the hookon that back and put slightly off set circle. Deadly from the rigger while chunking. At night we take a small light stick about 2 inches and super glue it to the jig. It might be a good idea to try that some time.

PB, Do you ever jig the circle while holding the rod, and find it to be anymore effective? I thought about trying them, but don't know if can keep myself from settin the hook. Just get so excited when hooking tuna on the jig

My favorites are pictured. Each shape has a specific aplication.

I found one slab jig in Montauk. I bought it and never figured out how to use it. Then one morning while anchored on the Hudson I dropped it down and let it keep going. At about 120 feet it stopped, slid then started going again. It had slid on the thermocline. I thought that was cool, so I reeled it partway up and did it again. It slid again. the third time I did it I caught a 65#bigeye! I caught one more tuna a little smaller then we had to go home. When the other guys woke up, they didn't believe me untill I showed um. That is the particular application I use that jig for. Other jigs pierce the thermocline too fast, by fluttering and sliding like a butterfish would, it caught fish. Sorry it's not in the picture.

    Pictured are

Spro,, good medium retrieve swimmer. Too fast no good. works best on cloudy days

Knife jigs,, good for bottom fish over a tropic reef or yoyo on a lobster pot or other fad...note the free swinging dacron loop hooks on top and bottom

Raider,,, good faster retrieve than spro, sink it and crank it up at an angle.

Weakfish jig,,,cast from the beach just twitch it across the bottom, very slow retreive for trout, a little faster for bass but keep it on the bottom. for bluefish bring it up off the bottom and reel it fast enough to make it surf the wave.

S&G VK3 best yoyo mid depth jig ever made. great fast retreive allso. The vikie jig shape is unique. Theres a fake one out that has a hammered finished, it sucks compared to the one in the picture. plenty snake kings on this one

Hopkins Shortie,,, not the best jig in the world but everyones caught a fish from the beach on one, right.?.

Bead Original,,, best jig for fishing rips for bass. Keep it on the bottom as long as possible. Once the boat is past the rip and excellerating, then crank it thrugh the rip. Bass hit it when it is bouncing across the bottom, leave the spool open and keep letting line out, small bounces in the zone..

Plain ole diamond jig,,,This is the one shape that can be worked all the ways the other jigs can and catch fish. All a round good catcher. If I could only have one jig for the rest of my life, give me a six once one of these.
