This phone call is by one of the guys on Bubba the Love Sponge Show. It is pretty funny.

we use XXH and XXXH blanks
that TLD15 may not even make those bend.
for that reel a calstar XH would be about the best choice
NED Please stop calling here!![]()
I'm offended by the term blue marlin LOL
Anyway, back to the subject- I think that unless you're in the mangroves looking for small jewfish, that you're going to need something a bit bigger than a tld15- those fish get humongous.
Good luck!
No way in Hell a TLD15 will handle a giant grouper. Those things fight like a giant BFT, and when they pull your line back into their little nook, "SNAP" goes the line. Watch this guy in this vid scream like a little girl as his rod snaps while his AVET T-rex holds on. Kinda funny but watch this,,

useing a tld 15 for gaint grouper is like pulling the matetrix 2 with a bigwheel!!!!
Been there done that, several up to 300 on a TLD 20, BUT ONLY IN SHALLOW WATER, 10 to 20 ft and no snags.
