What is your prefered size weight for downrigger balls????

I currently make a 10 lb downrigger weight shaped like a fish but want to expand in the near future and add downrigger balls as well. I can get mold for 8, 10, 12, & 15 lb'ers. Which size do you prefer????

For king fishing, I prefer 10lbs. At slow trolling speeds, you have very little blow back using 150 lb. power pro.

I am with Lyndon. We slow troll for Kings and the 10 lb ball is what we use.

Never had one, I was a lineman.

    Thumbs up Z Wing

Try a Z-Wing instead of a ball. We've been using them for years now and it seems like they get deeper faster and work great in excess of 8-9 knots as long as you have the downriggers to hold them.

I don't pull lead much anymore - usually use planers now, but I really like the pancake 10 lb - less blowback.
