Nice! I am building a Hercules 60H right now. I would like to see how you apply your finish. I can't seem to get mine dialed in.

The finish part will be posted soon on the 50 standup tutorial. The video gremlins got me on the jigging rod build. I guess I was speaking to a camera that was on pause!!! The segment just isnt there and the rod already left the building!!! ARGH!! But, the process is the same regardless of what type of rod it is.

I feel that with finish, its important to have a process that works and stick with it. Abide by the process to the letter of the law. I do everything the same each time I apply finish. Vary and you will get inconsistent results.

YOU GUYS ARE QUITE WELCOME. ITS A WORK IN PROGRESS AS I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS TYPE OF THING BEFORE, BUT I PROMISE THAT I AM TRYING TO GET THESE BETTER AND DO AWAY WITH THE DIATRIBE MOMENTS. IT'S HARD AS I HAVE MANY THOUGHTS GOING THRU MY HEAD AT EVERY MOMENT AND STEERING THE COMMENTS TO FLOW INTO THE NEXT PART OF THE VIDEO AS WELL AS ACTUALLY BUILDING A ROD, IT IS SOMETIMES A DAUNTING TASK.

THAT SAID, IT IS PRETTY FUN TO DO AND I CERTAINLY ENJOY SHARING THE INFO I HAVE IN MY HEAD!!!

Great stuff Kevin!! The diatribes aren't a bad thing, many of us have picked up tips and ideas that we would have missed otherwise. Keep doing what you're doing, it's enjoyable and you're a natural! Keep up the great work!!

Don't feel bad about losing the video segment. I lost a question that I could swear I posted yesterday.

    Oh well, second try:

You said you painted those rods orange. What kind of paint do you use? I assume it has to be something flexible, or is a can of Krylon good enough?
IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
